Feathered Serpent Ring

The Feathered Serpent or Quetzalcóatl was one of the most praised gods in ancient Mesoamerica. Commonly represented as a serpent, each Mesoamerican region identified Quetzalcóatl with “aspects” in which he was associated with various gods. Mesoamerica’s history and culture is important to the research involved with medicinal plants, as it has helped build a better understanding on how psychedelic plants influenced ancient societies and religion. Many pre-Columbian Mesoamerican cultures used hallucinogenic cactus, plants and mushrooms for medicinal and religious purposes.
